What a Little ‘Khumarri’ can do…

A little ‘Khumarri’
can disrupt your businesses
but only a little flowery ‘Khumarri’
will fill that petty emptiness
that is there even when
all your businesses
are perfect…

A little ‘Khumarri’
can take you off your safe habitual path
but only a little tender ‘Khumarri’
can lead you towards an adventure
into the magical unknown forest with
shining streams during the day,
and fireflies dancing
in the night…

A little ‘Khumarri’
can turn you into a beggar
but only a little rich ‘Khumarri’
can put on your tongue
the honey of life,
for a drop of which
all you rich have been begging
for centuries…

Note: ‘Khumarri’ word is used by the Sufis to indicate drunken godliness. I couldn’t find a proper word for it in English. I could have used ‘wine’ in place of it, but ‘Khumarri’ is no ordinary wine, and signifies much more…
